A non-surgical facelift offers men and women an alternative to extensive plastic surgery, and the results last longer than dermal fillers and injectables
Non-surgical facelifts are recommended for patients who want an anti-aging solution that doesn’t require plastic surgery and provides long-lasting results.
What is a Non-Surgical Facelift?
The amount of collagen in your skin diminishes as you age, and this results in skin that is prone to developing wrinkles and sagging. A non-surgical facelift is a minimally-invasive procedure that works by implanting surgical-grade polydioxanone (PDO) threads into the subcutaneous layer of your skin. The threads and micro-injuries stimulate collagen production to lift and firm your skin.
Types of Threads Used for a Non-Surgical Facelift
At La Belle Vie, we use Nova Threads for our non-surgical facelift procedures. The threads are absorbed by your body within four to six months, leaving behind a new collagen structure. Nova Threads are the preferred material for non-surgical facelifts because they come in three styles to customize the treatment.
- Smooth Threads: Treats fine lines and superficial wrinkles
- Twist Threads: For areas with deeper folds and wrinkles that benefit from greater collagen production, such as the nasolabial area
- Barbed Threads: Used to lift sagging skin in the cheeks, jowls, brow, and neck area
Non-Surgical Facelift Benefits
PDO threads are most commonly used to treat the following concerns:
- Stimulates natural collagen production
- Non-surgical procedure with little downtime
- Lifts areas of sagging, such as the jowls, cheeks, brow, and upper neck
- Effective for the most obvious signs of aging, such as marionette lines and nasolabial folds
- Safe for more delicate areas, such as around the lips
Can a Non-Surgical Facelift Be Combined with Other Treatments?
Our PDO threads non-surgical facelift can be combined with other treatments to rejuvenate your appearance. Specifically, we may recommend treatments to address flaws on the surface of your skin, such as age spots and sun damage.
Best Candidates for a Non-Surgical Facelift
While there is no downtime or recovery period associated with PDO thread treatments, patients can expect mild redness and sensitivity in their treatment areas similar to the sensation of a sunburn. These side effects are normal and typically resolve on their own within a few days of treatment.
The results of your PDO threads treatment will become visible once the skin is fully healed, about three to seven days following treatment. Patients find their skin to be smoother and clearer than prior to their PDO thread session. We may recommend a series of treatments spaced several weeks apart to achieve your desired results.
How Long Do the Results of a Non-Surgical Facelift Last?
The PDO threads provide immediate lifting to your skin, so you see results right after the treatment. The collagen starts to develop with a few days, and it is noticeable after approximately four to six weeks. You’ll continue to see a firming and tightening of the area after approximately three to four months.
PDO threads don’t stop the aging process. Your body continues to break down collagen and the result varies by person based on age, lifestyle, genetics, and other factors.

We will administer more numbing agents to help you feel relaxed.
