What to Expect on Your Journey with BHRT at La Belle Vie
Determine If You’re a Candidate
The first step is to determine if you’re a candidate for hormone therapy.
You may schedule online or call to be scheduled for a Hormone Therapy Consultation with your provider. You will complete a brief health history and hormone health questionnaire, to determine if the next steps with BHRT are appropriate for you.
If so, we will order a hormone lab panel, and schedule the lab draw in our office.
Hormone Lab Draw
If our consultation and review of health history determine you could be a good candidate for BHRT, the next step will be setting up a fasted lab draw in-house at La Belle Vie MedSpa.
Results Review
Once the results of your labs and interpretation are complete, an in-office visit with your provider will be scheduled to review those findings. Ideal next steps and customized options will be discussed.
Hormone Therapy Options
If you are determined to be a candidate for BHRT, often a simple 30-minute procedure will be done to begin the journey of optimizing your hormones. This involves the insertion of bioidentical hormone pellets into the fat tissue of the lower back / flank or gluteal area. In some cases, nutritional recommendations will be made to help you get the best results. For females, re-treatment occurs every 16 weeks. For males, re-treatment occurs every 20 weeks. This is also subject to your individual needs and provider’s recommendations for retreatments based on routine lab work and monitoring prior to your next treatment.

FAQ
What are bioidentical hormones?
Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) uses hormones that are structurally identical to those naturally produced by your body. At La Belle Vie Med Spa, we utilize Biote pellets, which are small, plant-based hormone-containing pellets inserted under the skin. These pellets deliver a consistent release of hormones to support hormonal balance.
Is hormone therapy painful?
The pellet insertion process is quick and typically well-tolerated. Most patients report minimal discomfort during the procedure, and numbing is used to enhance comfort.
How long will I need hormone therapy?
The duration of hormone therapy varies based on your individual needs and goals. Many patients continue treatment long-term to maintain the benefits of balanced hormones, with regular adjustments as necessary.
What happens to the pellets after they are inserted? Do they need to be removed?
The pellets dissolve naturally over time as your body absorbs the hormones. There’s no need for removal, and re-insertion is done periodically to maintain hormone levels.
What are the side effects of hormone therapy?
Side effects are generally minimal and may include slight swelling or tenderness at the insertion site. Your provider will review all potential risks and ensure the therapy is tailored to your health needs for optimal results.
